I am currently 52 years old. I began my Pilates experience when I was 50. The dance studio next door to my beauty shop had a sign on the door that offered Pilates classes. I went in to the beauty shop and found out that all the girls there were going, so I thought why not! That was my first experience with Miss Whitney! The first class was fun and Whitney is this precious little fireball that made me feel so comfortable about being there. At that time, I might have been the oldest chick in the room!
I began to feel so much better, each time I went. The classes were not easy, but they were definitely not too difficult for me. I began to see changes not only in my body but also in my attitude! I found a brand new group of girls that I am now proud to call my friends! I came to think of Whitney as my own personal guru. We laughed in the class at every little thing. But we also took it very seriously. I had a specific exercise that I did not like (the butterfly wiggle) and if we didn’t do it one day I felt I had won a little victory! LOL! If I had not walked into that first Pilates class and met Whitney, I would not have the knowledge about my body and it’s limits or the amazing things it can do! Nor would I have met such a sweet spirit! I can honestly say that this old gal gained a whole new attitude and a whole new group of friends! Thank you Whitney for your time and dedication and your ever happy glow that you bring to every person attending one of your classes!

Over the last 15 years I've been through countless fitness instructors. Whitney is the first that I have stuck with and seen big results with. I am the first to admit I am not an agile or flexible person. She keeps me motivated and pushes me to my limits and beyond what I thought I could do, while those more advanced in the class also are getting pushed to their limits. Her modifications make her classes perfect for a person at any fitness level. I think I can't do what she's asking me to do but somehow I do it and feel so good afterward.
Whitney's energy is contagious and the classes and music are so fun and well organized. She somehow manages to change up every class so we never are bored. It's always a surprise what we might be doing. I don't know where she comes up with some of these moves but you can tell she is completely dedicated to her classes. Pilates helped heal my knees!
The most exciting thing about Whitney's Pilates was the transition from being weak to a strength that I didn’t even know I had. Because there is no bouncing, jarring, or added stress to my body, Pilates became an ideal form of exercise for me. I can do Pilates anytime and anywhere and continue to realize the benefits it has added to my body and life. I was able to modify any move to meet my body needs.
I believe the Pilates helped heal my knees. I am able to go up and down stairs with much less crackling and hand rail holding! I also noticed more positive mental atmosphere and increased motivation, better balance, less pain and stiffness. Pilates reverses the aging process by stabilizing your core. Pilates works the small, deep muscles needed to keep your body steady when walking and your spine both supple and strong. Each workout would leave me feeling calm, balanced, and rejuvenated.
